|HOUSE SPECIALITY: Kwon-loh sliced pomfret noodles.|
Tucked in the middle row of Damansara Jaya’s commercial area you will notice a small eatery opposite the Atria shopping mall’s carpark.
This single shoplot has attracted fish ball noodle connoisseurs from all over the Klang Valley, including Hong Kong and Singapore.
It is famous for three things — fried fish cake, fish ball noodles and pomfret fillet koay teow.
Speaking of fish ball koay teow, there are many places in the Klang Valley that will give this place a run for its money, but once again, I must stress that simple is best and this place knows how to make the most of it.
Next, there’s the fish paste yong tau foo that you can order on the side. This is a “leaner” alternative to the meat and fish paste that you’ll find at regular places.
The pomfret soup koay teow is not the only hallmark dish here.
The restaurant also serves mah yau peen of sliced ikan kurau soup noodles. The dish is highly recommended.
High on the “how much you can spend” here at Kedai Makan Teow Chew is the pau yee or sliced abalone noodles.
How much? Well, the price is not included in the price list on the wall. Your best bet is to try it out.
