Labis - MCA Vs. MCA

Labis (P142)

Teoh Eng Ching Vs Dr. Chua Soi Lek's son

Labis is the second largest town in the district of Segamat, Johor, Malaysia, with a population of about 20,000 people. Labis is an agricultural town whose main export is rubber. Malays constitute, 36.66%, Chinese 47.85%, Indians 15.39% and Others: 0.10%.

Labis is an MCA stronghold. This seat was held by former Health Minister and MCA Vice President, Dr.Chua Soi Lek, and prior to that, by the former Transport Minister and MCA president, Dr Ling Liong Sik.

On January 2 last month, Dr. Chua relinquished all the posts pursuant to the sex DVD scandal, including MP for Labis but the Election Commission decided not to have a by-election [presumably because of the pending news of the general elections at that time]. Dr. Chua implied to have been set-up by political rivals pertaining to the sex DVD. Well, in politics, this is just one of the many occupational hazards a politician has to face.

In the 2004 general election, Dr. Chua defeated a DAP candidate by a majority of 10,279 votes.

In this election, the MCA selected Dr. Chua Soi Lek's son, Chua Tee Yong, 31, to contest for this seat [presumably to pasify Dr. Chua's supporters in Labis]. This is Chua Jr.'s first time contesting in the general elections. Whilst he is a political newbie, his father is not. Let's not forget that Dr. Chua Soi Lek is still a well respected and influential MCA politician despite the sex scandal.

Chua Jr.'s challenger in Labis is Teo Eng Ching, 32, from the DAP, who is seven months pregnant, Her husband Chang Teck Chee, 32, also from the DAP, is contesting the Bekok seat.

Chua Jr. is expected to win this seat, but by how many votes. And will MCA give him a party and cabinet post after the election ? Will his father's political rivals seek to sabotage him in this general election or thereafter ?

This election in Labis is about MCA Vs. MCA, nothing much to do with the opposition.

Rembau - Chegubard Vs. KJ

Rembau (P131)

Badrul Hisham Vs. Khairy Jamaluddin

Rembau has a population of approximately 55,000 people, where about 70% of them are Malays and 30% are Chinese and Indians. This constituency is not only a stronghold of the matrilineal system known as adat perpatih, but it is also a stronghold of Umno.

In the last general election, Firdaus Muhammad Rom Bin Harun of Umno obtained 28,664 votes, winning by a large majority of 18,656 defeating Dzulkefly Bin Ahmad of PAS who obtained 10,008 votes.

For this election, Keadilan's supreme council member Badrul Hisham Shaharin a.k.a Chegubard will compete with the Prime Minister's son-in-law and Unmo Youth Deputy Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin a.k.a KJ for the paliamentary seat of Rembau.

Whilst both are new candidates in Rembau, KJ has the advantage of the 3 Ms (Money, Media and Machinery) in addition to being a son of Rembau (through his father) and the son-in-law of the Prime Minister.

Love him or hate him, KJ is no Mickey Mouse candidate in this constituency. Lets be totally honest, it will difficult even for Anwar Ibrahim to defeat Khairy in Rembau. Despite Badrul Hisham being a popular blogger, famous for his fearless confrontation with the authorities (somewhat like Tian Chua), it will be extremely tough, if not impossible, for him to defeat Khairy here, UNLESS he gets some help from powerful Umno members who also intend to stop Khairy in his raise to power, and the Chinese and Indians all vote for the opposition. In the later scenerio, where the Malay votes split and the 30% Chinese and Indians votes go to Keadilan, Chegubard stands a chance to win.

Prediction - I put my bet on KJ winning with a larger majority, nevertheless.

Batu - Bruce Lee Vs Justice Bao

Batu (P115)

Lim Si Pin Vs Tian Chua

Batu constituency is a mixed consituency; part kampung part urban - it includes the working class Pekeliling flats area, some parts of Selayang and Jinjang up to the vicinity of the affluent Twin Towers and the KL Tower. In the rural part of Batu, you can even see small herds of cows. Hawker food stalls and also places of worship are a common sight in Batu.

The major roads in Batu are Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Sentul, two of the oldest roads in the Klang Valley. Most people in Batu earn their living through odd jobs, farming, petty trading or own small businesses. This constituency consist of 44% Malays, 40%Chinese, 14% Indians and 6% others.

Gerakan has represented Barisan Nasional in the Batu parliamentary constituency for many years. Being a BN stronghold, Batu has attracted rivalries for representation within the BN - MIC and PPP have expressed keen interest in this seat.

In 2004 Ng Lip Yong of Gerakan comfortably defeated Keadilan's information chief Tian Chua with a majority of 11,517 votes. Ng Lip Yong polled 28,718 votes against the 17,201 obtained by Tian Chua. This election, however, Lip has made way for current party advisor and past president for 26 years, Dr.Lim Keng Yaik's son, Lim Si Pin.

So this time round it will be Lim Si Pin Vs Tian Chua

Tian Chua, the current Keadilan information chief is no 'nyamuk' (mosquito) in politics. He is a human rights activist turned politician. Born in Malacca, he was educated in chinese medium and national type schools in Malacca, and continued his tertiary education in the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales in Australia, majoring in argiculture, then in philosophy. He also holds an Masters degree Employment & Labour Studies from Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in the Hague, the Netherlands. Prior to entering politics Tian Chua was a well known student leader in Australia and a major activist with human rights NGO, Suaram.

Tian Chua is known for his bravado that has attracted media attention - being arrested and beaten by the police for taking part in demonstrations, been falsely accused of attempted murder by driving racklessly, been criticised for doctoring and distributing a 'threesome photo' relating to the Altantuya murder case, amongst others. But many people who know him will testify that no one can question the sincerity and integrity in Tien Chua's politics. He is greatly admired for fearlessly pursuing his ideals. Tian Chua is like our very own Justice Bao (Bao Zheng).

Lim Si Pin, on the other hand, is currently Gerakan's Deputy Youth Chief and the only son of Dr.Lim Keng Yaik. He has a double degree (economics and law) and Masters (finance and banking) from the University of Wales. He said in interviews with a local newspaper that Gerakan Youth chief Mah Siew Keong is more of a political mentor than his own father. He said his father shielded him and his siblings from politics since they were young.

There are plenty of allegations of nepotism within Gerakan pertaining to Si Pin's election as its Youth No 2 in the party's polls in 2005. There were earlier rumours that he was to stand for the Segambut parliamentary seat but was opposed by party vice-president Dr Tan Kee Kwong and others. Despite his pedigree, people find him more approachable, friendly and down to earth compared to the sons of other political leaders. Yes, Si Pin should be given a chance to prove himself, just like everyone else.

Whilst Lim Si Pin has the advantage of being fielded in a Gerakan stronghold, with the anti-government sentiment amongst the Chinese and Indians this time round, coupled with jealous Gerakan members working against him, winning this seat won't be a walk in the park.

Si Pin, is a matial arts enthusiast - a Kung Fu expert. It was reported that unlike other guys, he is more interested in martial arts than in football. He told a journalist once in an interview, that he doesn't know how to kick a football, but he can definately kick some ass.

So lets see if Lim Si Pin can kick Tian Chua's ass in Batu and become the "Bruce Lee of Batu", or is Si Pin going to get his ass kicked so hard that he'll thank his daddy for shielding him from politics for so long.

Prediction - Both candidates have an equal chance of winning. But whomever wins will win with a relatively slim majority.

What do you think guys ? Bruce Lee or Justice Bao to win ? Please post your comments.

Lembah Pantai - Nurul Izzah Vs Shahrizat Jalil

Lembah Pantai(P121)

Incumbent Unmo's Deputy Wanita Head and The Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, is defending this seat against Nurul Izzah from Keadilan.

In 1995 Shahrizat beat former Lord President Tun Salleh Abbas of Semangat 46 (now disbanded), in the 1999 elections (during the height of the Reformasi movement), she beat Zainur Zakaria of Keadilan, and in 2004, she defeated Keadilan's Dr Sanusi Osman by a 15,288-vote majority.

Nurul Izzah, despite being the daughter of former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim, is still a newbie in politics. Shahrizat, on the other hand, is a veteran and has defeated much more fomidible opponents in the past.

Shahrizat is expected to win comfortably, however, it is interesting to see how first timer Nural Izzah will fare - a vote for Nurul Izzah is a vote for Anwar Ibrahim. Will she manage to win a larger margin of votes than her predecessors ?

What do you think guys ? Please post your comments. :)

Batu Caves - Malay And Indian Votes Split

Batu Caves (N16)

Opposition Vs. BN

This is a state seat with a malay majority depite the Hindu festival Thaipusam being held here. This constituency is currently facing plenty of problems. MIC local leaders were dissaponited that Samy Vellu fielded T. Mohan, a businessman from Puchong, instead of their choice, G. Jayakumar who is a local.

Further, according to a report by the NST, Dr Khir Toyo, the Selangor Menteri Besar admitted that this seat is vulnerable as the Malay voters were unhappy with the Batu Caves temple management. Even T. Mohan told the NST that Batu Caves is a ‘black’ area and while 45% of the constituents support the Barisan Nasional, 55% support the opposition.

T.Mohan will be competing with Keadilan's Amirudin Shari for the batu caves seat.

The Indian votes will be split - Hindraf supporters and dissapointed local MIC members will support the opposition, Keadilan. Half the Malay votes is also expected to swing towards Keadilan's Malay candidate.

Prediction - Keadilan to win.

What say you ? MIC or Keadilan ? Post your comments - let us hear you.

Kota Alam Shah - Hindraf Vs BN

Kota Alam Shah (N48)

Hindraft Vs BN

This seat which is under the Klang parliament constituency is currently held by Gerakan’s Ch’ng Su Chen who beat Wiliam Thye Kim Kiong from DAP with a 2,743 majority in the last general election.

Whilst there was talk earlier this month that the PPP will be given this seat to contest, Gerakan has however refused to give it up or swap it with another.

So its been settled, incumbent Ch’ng Su Chen will defend his seat against Hindraf leader and current Internal Security Act detainee M. Manoharan who is representing the DAP.

M. Manoharan nomination has, however, caused problems for the DAP. Peter Tan, who has earlier been tipped to contest the seat for the DAP, announced his resignation from the party claming that he has been stabbed in the back as he has worked hard in the constituency and has raised RM75,000 for his campaign but was dropped at the last minute.

The candidates for this seat is not important. This seat is important to watch as it is a test case to see how much real support Hindraf has amongst the Indians and how much the votes can swing to the opposition.

Prediction - Gerakan to retain this seat with a very slim majority.

Klang guys, what's your say ? post your comments.

Petaling Jaya Utara - Tony Pua Vs Chew Mei Fun

Petaling Jaya Utara (P106)

Tony Pua Vs Chew Mei Fun

Accorrding to the NST, the Petaling Jaya Utara constituency has about 76,000 registered voters, 76.4% of them are Chinese while 15.2% are Malays with the rest being Indians with an even spread in the age breakdown. It is a very middle class constituency which includes the upper middle class Damansara Jaya township.

Chew Mei Fun of MCA has been the member of parliament for Petaling Jaya Utara since 1999. In 2004, Chew Mei Fun who is also the Wanita MCA deputy chairman and Women, Family and Community Development Ministry Parliamentary Secretary, polled 25,603 votes against Ronnie Liu of the DAP who polled 23,122 votes, winning by a slim majority of 2,481 votes. Despite many unresolved issues effecting the Chinese middle class, Chew Mei Fun still has substantial support in this constituency as she is seen as one of the more competent MCA politician.

In December last year, she escaped death after her car skidded and crashed into a divider at the East Coast Highway near Maran. Chew’s official car spun several times before she was thrown out of the vehicle upon impact. She was in a semi-conscious state and fractured her collarbone and injured her left eye. She has since recovered from her injuries. This woman is a tough cookie and has all the luck on her side.

Challenger Tony Phua of DAP is currenly the economic adviser to DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng. Tony Pua, on the other hand, is not an ikan bilis politician.

Tony graduated from Keble College, Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics under a scholarship from the MTC Foundation in 1994. Prior to that, he received Asean and Shaw Foundation scholarships to pursue his "O" and "A"-Levels in Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College.

Before to joining the DAP, he made his millions as CEO and founder of Cyber Village Sdn Bhd, a company listed in the SESDAQ, Singapore.

DAP has a good chance to win this seat this time around, taking advantage of the general anti-govenment middle class sentiment and fielding someone like Tony Pua; an outstanding achiever who represent the hopes and dreams of the middle class Malaysian.

Petaling Jaya Utara will be an interesting seat to watch with boy wonder Tony Pua going against a popular, capable and respected incumbent MCA politician, Chew Mei Fun.

Prediction - Both candidates have an equal chance of winning. But whoever wins, will win with a slim majority.

Please post your comments.

Kelana Jaya - Loh Gwo Burne Vs Lee Hwa Beng

Kelana Jaya (P104)

Loh Gwo Burne Vs Lee Hwa Beng

Spoiler – Billie Lim, author and motivational speaker

Kelana Jaya is home to many of the affluent upmarket professionals and wealthy business owners in the Klang Valley. It is generally a very middle class constituency. According to The Star, this parliamentary constituency has 74,649 voters, made up of 42.1% Malays, 37.5% Chinese, 19.4% Indians and 1% others.

Lee Hwa Beng is the ex Subang Jaya state assemblyman who many say is one of the better MCA elected representatives. He has done a good job as state assemblymen for Subang Jaya. Lee Hwa Beng appeals to the Chinese, Indian and Malay middle class. People sometimes say that Lee Hwa Beng is a good politician in the wrong party – don’t know if this is meant to be a compliment or an insult to him. Lee Hwa Beng nevertheless now moves up from a state seat Subang Jaya to a parliamentary seat, Kelana Jaya. He is currently Kelana Jaya MCA head.

Loh Gwo Burne is a newbie in politics. His only claim to fame is his video clip of lawyer VK Lingam apparently making deals pertaining to the appointment of judges, which is subject of the recent controversy . Loh Gwo Burne is contesting this seat under the Keadilan ticket.

Billie Lim is standing as an independent, as usual. In previous general elections he stood for the Bukit Bintang parliamentary seat but he got so few votes that he lost his deposit. Many believe that Billie is only contesting in politics for the free publicity he can obtain from the media – he is an attention seeker. He knows that he can’t win but he doesn’t care. In this election, he is again expected to lose his deposit.

Prediction: Lee Hwa Beng of MCA to win. The question is by how many votes majority.

Gombak - Said Anwar Said Ahmad Vs Azmin Ali

Gombak (P98)

Said Anwar Said Ahmad Vs Azmin Ali

Azmin Ali from Keadilan is former deputy prime minister and current Keadilan de facto head, Anwar Ibrahim’s , blue eyed boy. He is apparently being groomed by Anwar Ibrahim to move up the ranks within the party. Azmin is currently Keadilan’s Vice-President which many claimed was won unfairly as the post should have gone to Anwar’s one time buddy and tennis partner Nallakarupan. Anwar intervened in the Keadilan party election and told Nallakarupan to make way for Azmin Ali. Nallakarupan was bitter about this and left Keadilan last year to form his own Indian based political party.

In this election Azmin competes with Umno’s new kid on the block, Said Anuar Said Ahmad for this parliamentary seat. As the Gombak parliamentary constituency is predominantly Malay thus you can expect a lot of Islamic and Malay-related issues to be debated here, just like the previous general elections. In the 2004 elections, Dr Hatta Ramli of PAS contested and lost to incumbent Dr Raman Ismail of Umno. Dr Raman won with 39, 870 votes from the total 67, 224 votes cast while Dr Hatta gained 26, 663 votes. This time round this seat is hot because the Indian and Chinese votes are expected to swing to the opposition - Keadilan, and the Malay votes will be split between Keadilan and Umno.

Prediction – Azmin Ali of Keadilan to win with a slim majority.

Ok, what do you think, guys ? post your comments.

Every day until the elections I will post about the elections hot seats.

Idiot's Guide Election Fever 2008

For the uninitiated, these are the basics of the Malaysian general election:

# Malaysia must have its general election within 5 years from the previous general election. So, once a general election is held, the next one must be within 5 years.

# In Malaysian elections whichever candidate who gets the most votes win. This is called "first-past-the-post system". This is not a very fair system because even if a candidate wins less than 50% of the total votes but his votes is the highest amongst the other candidates, he still wins.

# There are 2 types of political seats in Malaysia - Parliamentary seats and state seats. There are a total of 222 parliamentary seats and 505 state seats up for grabs. Those who win the parliamentary seats are called Members Of Parliament (MPs) and those who win state seats are called State Assemblymen. Note that the number of state seats varies according to the size of the state and its population i.e. some states have more seats, and some states have less.

# Members of Parliament(MPs) sit in parliament and make laws affecting the whole country. State Assemblymen, on the other hand, sit in the state legislative assembly make laws affecting the state.

# The party (or coalition) with the most number of seats in parliament forms the federal government and the party (or coalition) with the most number of state seats forms the state government.

# The head of the federal govenment is the Prime Minister and the head of the state is the Menteri Besar (for states with Sultans) and Chief Minister (for states without Sultans).

# The Prime Minister appoints his cabinet ministers and the Menteri Besar or Chief Minister appoint the state executive councillors.

# Any Malaysian citizen over 21 years old, living in the country, is of sound mind, is not convicted of an offence and is not an undischarged bankrupt can stand as a candidate. If he /she belongs to a political party, that party can nominate him as its candidate for a specified seat. Alternatively, he can also stand as an independent.

# Candidates for a parliamentary seat have to put up an RM10,000 deposit and those for a state seat, one of RM5,000. This is returned to them after the voting day, if a candidate gets at least one-eighth of the total votes cast. In addition, those contesting parliamentary and state seats are required to put up another RM5,000 and RM3,000 respectively. They will get this back if they remove all posters and banners within 14 days from the voting day.

# A person must be 21 years old and above, a Malaysian citizen and registered as a voter with the Election Commission (EC) before he / she can vote. Voters can check if they are on the electoral roll by going to www.spr.gov.my.

# On election day, voters should go to their respective polling centres and will allowed to enter once their identities have been confirmed.

# A person voting will be given 2 ballot papers (only 1 ballot paper if voting in KL, Putrajaya or Labuan), which bear the names and symbols of each candidate. Voting is secret and he should put an "X" against the name of the candidate he supports on the ballot paper(s) - he / she must put an "X" against the name of only one candidate on each ballot paper.

Those who have anything to add, please post your comments.

Bomohs Making Money From Politicians Part 2

This is Part 2 of an earlier post.

In Part 1, I posted the report by Harian Metro pertaining to how bomohs play a part in the Malaysian political scene especially during the general elections. This is the continuation of that post. So its better to read Part 1 first before you read this post.

The usual items charmed by the bomohs for politicians include pens, the songkok, hair cream, speacial kinds of wood and oils. These items are to be worn or applied to the body of the politician.

The items not only assist a politician to win the election but also serves as protection against the evil intentions of their enemies and adversaries.

According to a bomoh, the pen that is used for this purpose is special because there are hidden numbers and versus of the al-Quran inscribed on it. It is similar with the songkok and the clothes.

The bomoh will also advise the politician on the colours of their clothes, favorable times for certain acts, such as for ceramahs etc. This would also include advise on whether the politician should walk starting with his left or right foot.

A "bomoh politik" referred to as Azli said that prior to important dates such as nomination day and the election day, he will spend a few hours with each of his clients - for "mandi bunga" and prayers.

Azli also said that prior to leaving the house, he will apply "specially charmed" water over his politician client's face.

All these rituals are done, according to Azli, for the candidate to be popular, have self-confidence and charisma.

As an additional precaution, Azli also says that he will usually inspect the location where the candidate proposes to speak at, to ensure that there are no "black magic" influences there that could adversely affect his client.

He adds that black magic influences could adversely affect his client by making him stammer, hated by the contituents and undermine his general charisma.

List of wood and oils used:

Sepah Gajah - to subordinate others

Kemenyan Jampi - an incense which is burnt with tobacco; as protection against black magic

Kayu Penunduk - to subordinate others

Ceneru Gajah - as protection against black magic

Buah Koka (Koka Fruit) - as protection against evil spirits

Minyak Cenuai - to improve charisma and popularity

Raja Kayu - to improve self-confidence

Remungai - as protection against black magic

Teras Remugai - as protection against black magic and also has the ability to return the evil forces back to the sender

Kayu Campuran - a cylinder shaped talisman made from 7 types of wood including Pemungai, Sepah Gajah, Penunduk, Koka and Ceneru Gajah to be inserted into a pen

Rings - rings to be worn are usually made from the abovementioned items

Buluh Tumpat and Sula Bertam - for strength and energy; protection against physical attacks

How To Be A Smart Gangster

The film American Gangster is a real story of a cult figure, Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) from the streets of 1970s Harlem.

Nobody noticed Frank Lucas, the quiet driver to one of the inner city's leading black gangster, Bumpy Johnson. But when his boss suddenly dies, Frank exploits the opening in the power structure to build his own empire and create his own version of the American Dream.

Through cunning and strict business ethics, he becomes a leader in the city drug trade by flooding the streets with a better product at a better price. He does this by cutting out the middlemen - dealing directly with opium growers in the Golden Triangle in southeast Asia.

Lucas' gang eventually starts to control the drug trade above the better known Mafia families, and becomes a black power player who has come from nowhere to dominate the scene.

As he amasses a fortune in the process, the authorities - both crooked and straight are out to get him, as are rival drug dealers, once they figure out who he is.

Important lessons we can learn from this film:

Keep A Low Profile

When Frank takes over from his boss Bumpy, nobody knows who Frank was, which is fine for Frank because he’s more interested in making huge amounts of money than in making a name for himself. Foolish pride never factors into Frank’s way of doing business, so he flies under the radar of the authorities for years. When the authorities discovers that a new player has taken over the entire New York heroin trade, they never suspect it is Frank and think it must be the traditional Mafia families. They think there’s no way anyone other than the Mafia who could pull off such a feat. By the time they realise that it is Lucas who’s responsible - a black man from Harlem, of all people - it is too late; Frank has already created an empire.

“The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room,” Frank informs his younger brother Huey, who shows up to his party dressed like a pimp. When Frank goes out, he goes to his own club and surrounds himself with his own people. No gold medallions, no bling-blings - Period !. Do not in any case attract unwanted attention.

Sell Better, Cheaper Products

Frank cuts out the middlemen and deals directly with opium growers in southeast Asia.

Brand Your Product

Frank believes in the importance of creating a recognised product or a “brand.” Frank warns rival gangster Nicky Barnes, whom he supplies his drugs to, not to tamper with his product by diluting it. Frank is proud of the quality of his drugs which he refers to as the “Pepsi of smack” or “blue magic.”

Share Your Wealth

For anyone in this line of work, you need the support of the people on the street - your customers and future customers. Each year, Frank is seen handing out turkeys on Thanksgiving. He employs hundreds in his drug refineries and makes sure to always give the impression that, despite peddling drugs on a massive scale, he is actually good for the community.

Watch this film.

Pondan Uses Black Magic To Steal Money

Harian Metro ran an article about a "pondan" (Transvestite) who claims to be working as a famous makeup artist for TV dramas is believed to be using black magic to steal money through empty envelopes by using black magic on "her" victims.

According to the article, the pondan does this by initially approaching a victim under the pretext of wanting to change money, she then simply offers an envelope to the victim who is persuaded to insert money into it. Upon the money being inserted into the envelope, the pondan tells the victim that the money she intends to change is at another place and will persuade the victim to permit her a few minutes to get it. She then leaves the envelope purportedly containing the money with the victim.

The victim realises that he has been duped when the pondan doesn't return and the envelope he is holding, purportedly containing his own money, contains instead 6 4D tickets and a letter from the pondan apologising to the victim for using black magic to steal his money.

One such case repoted to the police is where the pondon enters a shop selling ladies accessories, approaches a salesgirl and makes small talk about her work as a makeup artist. The pondon then leaves the shop without purchasing anything.

A few minutes later the pondon comes back to the shop and tells the salesgirl that she (the pondon) has 20 pieces of RM10 notes and she need to change it for larger notes because she intends to attend a wedding and has to give an "ang pow" to the married couple - inserting 20 pieces of RM10 in the envelope (as 'ang pow') will not be appropriate.

She then asks the salesgirl if she (the salesgirl) is willing to change the 20 pieces of RM10 with 4 pieces of RM50 notes. The salesgirl obliges and inserts 4 pieces of RM50 notes into an envelope, seals it and writes the name of the couple (to be married)on the envelope, as dictated by the pondan.

The pondan then says that she has left the 20 pieces of RM10 (which she intends to change) in her car and says that she would be back. Meanwhile, the salesgirl claims that she was still holding the envelope purportedly containing the 4 pieces of her own RM50 notes.

When the pondan didnt return for the envelope, the salesgirl opened the envelope and was shocked that it instead contained 6 4D tickets and a letter from the pondan apologising for using black magic to steal her (salesgirl's) money as she (the pondon) needs the money urgently to save her friend's life - apparently the pondan's friend was undergoing an operation at the Institute Jantung Negara at the time.

The salesgirl says that she would not believe how this could happen as two other salesgirls stood as witness when she inserted the 4 pieces of RM50 into the enveloped, sealed it and wrote the name of the couple on it - she was holding the envelope, not the pondan.

What do you think, guys ? black magic or David Blaine type magic or simply a version of an African scam - envelope swap ? Please post your comments.

Illegal Bookies Taking Bets On Election

Like its politicians, Malaysians in general are indeed superstitious and take action to capitalise on this.

According to a report by the Bangkok Post, the general election has attracted a new subject to wager upon.

The number 8 considered auspicious by many Asians has also aroused hopes amongst politicians who think that he number will help them win the elections.

Some Malaysians expecially the Chinese in Penang took more than a theoretical interest in the significance of the number 8 and the general election. They have earlier placed bets with illegal bookies on March 8 being the polling date and have won the bet when the Election Commission announced the date last Thursday.

According to Rev Yong, a feng shui consultant the Chinese in Penang will bet on anything pertaining to these elections - on numbers, dates, winning candidates.

The news report adds that an illegal bookie in Penang had to pay out more than RM10,000 to customers who won the bet.

Some punters of four-digit tickets were banking on the number 6308, which they regarded as the numerical equivalent of Saturday, March 8.

Bomohs Making Money From Politicians

Harian Metro has reported that whilst there are rumour concerning politicians seeking the help of bomohs for political purposes, these rumors appear to be true in light of certain "bomoh politik" admitting to having providing services to politicians.

Politician have sought the assistence of bomohs to ensure that they are selected as candidates by thier respective parties for the our 12th General Election.

A bomoh referred to only as Azli, 45 year-old, said that some politicians have made an appointment for his services as early as 6 months ago.

Azli said that it is better that an appoinment for his services is sought in advance as he could then make the necessary preparations by making available the ceremonial items and reserving appointment dates.

Azli add that politicians who sought his servies wanted him to do whatever it takes for them to win the elections and take take certain "precautionary measures" against the use of black magic by their enemies.

Azli says that he prefers working with his regular politician clients rather than new clients. His usual service methods for political candidates, he reveals, include the use of the "pelaris, penyeri wajah and pendinding" - these not only involve providing lucky chams and amulets, but also prayers and "mandi bunga".

He adds, "my services are meticulous done, I don't do provide shoddy services". He claims that it is difficult to deal with new clients as they want things done fast and he is unable to fulfill their unreasonable requests as these these things take time for preparation - it cannot be done in haste.

Business has been brisks for Azli since rumours of the general election was first initiated. Prior to this, Azli only had one assistant, now he has five.

According to Azli, he doesn't determine the price for this services, his clients decide on this. He admits that his clients are generaous and what they pay commensurates with the quality of his services.

"If they promise to give me an additional sum should they win, they will fulfull their promises", he adds. He also addmits that he has been given a piece of land by his client who won a seat in the last general election.

Another bomoh called Halim, 40 years-old, is also as busy as Azli as the general election looms near.

"Thus far, whist there are no potential candidates who have come to meet me personally, they have sent their representatives who have asked for 'pendinding and penyeri' for their politician bosses", says Halim. He adds that he doesnt really care about who comes and sees him as long as he makes a profit.

Halim says that usually he works alone, but now, he has two assistants due to the increased demand for his services.

"One assistant prepares the items for the amulets and oils for the 'pendinding and penyeri wajah' while the other assistant acts as a marketing personnel seeking clients by meeting with potential political candidates who might want the services of a bomoh", he explains.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of the Association of Malay Traditional Medicine Malaysia, Mohd Salim Santhiman said that these issue of potential political candidates seeking the services of bomohs is not new.
Mohd Salim says that the politicians not only sought bomohs to win the election but for protection. "Who knows if there are enemies who intend to sabotage them by using black magic", he explains.

No More Pirated Software

According to a news report by the NST, a reduction in software piracy to 50 per cent in three years could mean thousands of new jobs, millions in tax revenues and economic growth.

The study by International Data Corporation (IDC) said that Malaysia could look forward to about new 2,600 jobs, approximtatly US$660 million (RM2.1 billion) in economic growth and US$144 million more in tax revenues when its software piracy was reduced by half in 2011.

IDC is also of the opnion that reducing software piracy had a "multiplier effect" - for every US$1 spent on licensed software, an additional US$1.25 was spent on related services from local vendors like installing the software and maintenance services.

To reduce software piracy, the Business Software Alliance encouraged governments to update national copyright laws and implement the World Intellectual Property obligation.
------------------

Software and hardware retailers in Low Yat Plaza in KL and Digital Mall in PJ do not sell or install unlicensed sofware any longer. As orginal sofware is much too expensive for the average Malaysian, should the IDC give Malaysia, as a developing nation, a few more years leeway pertaining to software piracy, say until 2020 ? What do you think guys ?

Does "Urut Batin" Improve Men's Performance in Bed ?

Big And Strong Penis Method
Enlarge your penis 1-4 inches fast and easy
Thicken your penis and have rock hard erections every time

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to popular demand there are many spas and health centres in the Klang Valley and in major cities in Malaysia offering "urut batin" - penis massage.

Urut batin is a form of traditional Malay massage that helps the body circulate more blood to the penis while increasing the strength of erections to improve sexual stamina.

Despite its seemingly positive health benefits, most of the time, the "urut batin" are performed by amateur female massage "therapists" who do nothing more than masturbate their customers.
Firstly, is it legal ?

In an article by the Malay Mail in June last year, Ampang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Amer Awal was reported saying that masturbation is not prostitution and it is not mentioned in the Penal Code.

That is the reason why police cannot take action against massage parlours offering erotic massages as it is not an offence.

It appears that certain massage parlours are using this loophole in the law to offer ‘hand jobs’ to customers, masquerading under the name of urut batin.

Amer said police cannot take action against the massage parlour operators without evidence.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“It’s difficult to prove whether a masseuse masturbates her customer. When a raiding team enters the cubicle, the masseuse would have quickly covered the customer’s private parts with a towel or something and put her hands on his thigh as if she’s massaging the area.

Does it work ?

According to a news report by the NST in September last year, Professor Dr Shaiful Bahari Ismail from Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital Family Health Clinic, said that specialists massage of the penis and testicles might prove dangerous for people suffering from erectile dysfuncton.

"Although there is no scientific research on the effect of massage of the private parts, massaging techniques carried out directly on the penis and testicles may damage blood vessels, the nerve system and even the skin," Dr Shaiful said.

How much does it cost ?

Apparently accourding to the NST article the "standard package" for "batin massage" (male genital massage) in Kelantan is apparently between RM200 and RM300. However, according to some advertisements on the internet, in Kuala Lumpur one can get a "urut batin" for as little as RM65.

I understand that health centres offer this massage Kuala Lumpur at very competitive rates.

Dangerous Penis Enlargement Methods To Avoid

There are a lot of scams out there that claim to be able to enlarge your penis. Most of these methods simply doesn't work. Some are known to have caused serious injury. A lot of people fall for these scams because they are designed to prey on the insecurity and misfortune of a lot of men - a lot of men are simply unsatisfied, if not devastated with their current size. These are some methods that do not work:

Penis enlargement pumps

Penis enlargement pumps are suction devices that are fitted over the penis. When activated, the pump creates a vacuum around the penis and this pressure causes blood to rush to the penis, making it engorged, enabling an erection. These vacuum pumps have been used to help men who are dealing with erectile dysfunction.

However, these vacuum pumps are very easy to misuse. If used too vigorously, the pressure created around the penis could potentially cause vascular damage. It is also possible for the penis to be sucked in or pulled in to the cylinder causing injury.

Penis enlargement pills and patches

Penis enlargement pills and patches are normally seen advertised on the internet a lot. Although they promise a very convenient and discreet solution to enlarge your penis, studies show that they are not effective and are known to have many side effects that cause illness. All the current pills and patches being sold are unregulated and are not FDA approved. Apparently most of these products are manufactured in China and are sold online without government supervision.

Surgery

Surgery to enlarge the penis involves severing some of the ligaments that connect the penis to the underside of your pelvic bone. The theory behind this is that since half to one third of the penis is “hidden” inside the body, thus by cutting some of these ligaments, more of the penis is exposed, and this will make the penis appear larger. The result is merely cosmetic and does not enhance your erection.

This kind of surgical procedure is dangerous - research say that there is a 70 % risk of losing your ability to have an erection after this surgery.

A method that works

So far there is only one known penis enlargement technique that is effective and safe. This is a natural method that requires some exercise - a penis enlargement exercise designed by experts. Although this is the best, safest and cheapest method, it requires you to do a special exercise. This method is designed to encourage new cells to grow in the penis, causing your penis to grow in length and in thickness permanently, safely and naturally.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok guys, tell me what you think ? does it work or not ? ;)

The Malay Mail reported that a lounge in Jalan Ipoh became one of the most sought after nightspots in Kuala Lumpur within a month of its opening as its hosts female Filipino and Thai striptease. The girls who are band members who would strip to their bras and underwear as part of their act.

On Thursday, however the sexy performance by seven women was cut short by eight Immigration officers posing as patrons for three nights.

According to the immigration dept, the band members had been performing daily between 9pm and 2.30am.

Apparently it was not the sexy acts by the band that were illigal but the club breached the law for hiring foreign workers without permits.

The management had not applied for professional passes for the foreign band, rendering them illegal, said Immigration enforcement director Datuk Ishak Mohamed.
